Fixing Grumpy’s Heart

I don’t even know where to even begin with writing this. I typically ask for prayers because I’ve never been one to ask for financial help, but this isn’t for me. It’s for my dad, or as Kael, Emmilyn, Olive and Henley refer to him- Grumpy.  

The last year (or 2 really)  has been rough for my family. We’ve had Breast Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and now sitting and waiting for an LVAD procedure for my dad. He suffered a heart attack last summer then was admitted in September for another procedure to help his control his afib (which i was fortunate enough to be there by his side for.) To see my dad, Rick Canoy or “RC” as they call him down at the Teamsters Hall go through this is very hard. Seeing him in a restricted diet that has made him almost unrecognizeable, to
know he hasn’t been able to ride his Harley (his most favorite past time) , that he hasn’t been able to travel to see grandkids who have been asking when Grumpy is coming to visit, or to even be able to go visit his parents who are both in a nursing home with Dementia and Alzheimer’s ..  Its absolutely made me a emotional mess...  I don’t think I’ve cried and wanted my dad more in my life then i do now. I feel like i need to do something and this is all i know to do. I’m making this go fund me because I need my dad. My stepmom needs my dad, my boys need my dad and my nieces need my dad.  He’s young, he turns 54 this year and we need to be able to celebrate it with family and not in the hospital like last year. Even if i make half the goal posted you don’t know how much it will mean to my dad, but for me as well. We need our Grumpy for graduations, proms, weddings and great grandkids.

Lastly- If you can’t donate then i ask you pray. Pray as I’ve been praying for months for his heart to become healthy again. Pray that with this procedure he can one day receive a new heart and be here to see all the things a dad and grandad hope to witness in life and experience in life♥️
