I am writing today to ask for your help:
On October 7, 2016 my life changed forever I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
After a routine mammogram, it was identified I had tumors in both breasts. The tumors in the left breast were benign and have since been removed however I wasn’t so lucky in the right breast. I started my radiation treatment on October 31st, 2016. After treatment I am sore and exhausted and just want to be left alone, I usually feel the remints of treatment.
Lately I have been struggling walking, writing and doing normal activities. Going to the dentist has been a routine thing for me since my teeth continue to crack on a regular basis due to treatment.
I had a bone density test December 19 and since I am severely vitamin D deficient, I already showing signs for osteoporosis, which is part of the reason for the aches and pains.
My treatment goes through the end of March and at that time it will be determined if I have surgery or start chemo-therapy.
The latest news is that I have another lump in my left breast and I will have to have a biopsy to see if it is benign or malignant.
I have a great job and am still working full time and plan on working until I need to be off work. My Family and extended Family has been very supportive.
Paying for medicine, treatment and dental visits as most of you know is overwhelming so imagine these payments a few times a week.
Christmas although I know it’s not about the presents wasn’t the same as it has been in years past. The emotional toll this has taken on my Husband and my Children is horrible, they cry in silence so I don’t see their pain but I do see it, which makes it that much more heartbreaking. I don’t want to go anywhere or do anything I just hibernate in my home. If I didn’t have my job and a supportive boss I don’t know what I would do.
I try to stay positive but I just can’t I am overwhelmed with the outstanding debt I have wondering if I can afford to go to treatment it’s just not fair.
I am a private person but it’s just too much to bear and we need the help of our friends. I can no longer allow pride to be a factor although asking for help is tough.
If you’re healthy take a minute to reflect and take care of yourself. All the things I loved to do I can’t do anymore without getting sick. No junk food, liquor, soda or any of lifes simple pleasures that I have taken for granted for so many years.
Anything you can do to help our Family out would be greatly appreciated.
***Radiation is another type of treatment for cancer which kills cells that are responsible for caner with the use of radiations. These radiations help in shrinking tumors and killing cancerous cells. Different types of radiations used for treatment are Gamma or X-Rays or charged particles. Radiation treatment is carried out with internal or external treatment procedure in which radiation is provided from outside the body or within the body respectively. 50 percent of patients of cancer in the world receive radiation treatment at some stage.
