My name is Tammy Jackson, and many of you may have seen my story featured in the Netflix Original documentary The Bleeding Edge.

After experiencing stress urinary incontinence in 2007, I was implanted with pelvic mesh and my health went into a downward spiral. In the past 11 years, I have had 21 surgeries, including a total hysterectomy, to deal with kidney atrophy and decreased kidney function, and a PICC line for over 10 month with IV antibiotic infusions 3 times a day, 7 days a week. I was hospitalized seven times for antibiotic resistance sepsis seven times in seven months.

I am now in kidney failure and waiting for a kidney transplant, as well as another partial mesh removal surgery, to remove mesh from the pelvic bone. To make matters worse, my husband Byron recently lost his job of 29 years, when the plant where he worked was shut down.

I’ve never asked for money before, but between my medical bills and the loss of Byron’s income, we would be grateful for any help you can provide us.

I want to thank everyone who has donationed to help me. I'm now planning on a surgery out of state, to remove the infected Mesh out of my Pelvic bone. There isn't any Surgerons in KY that can do this surgery. My Infectious disease doctor is working with the Surgeon who will be doing this surgery. They believe the infected Mesh has kept me on IV antibiotics infusion and septic many times. After the Mesh is removed , then I can start dialysis or have the kidney transplant. The Pyelonephritis has caused renal failure, right kidney 30% function and left 55% function. I've had Nuclear radation wbc testing and my pelvic floor/ bone and right kidney lit up. I'm truly grateful for all the donations, without this funding I won't be able to have the 2-4 surgries needed to get my quality of life back. Being antibotic resistant, on IV antibiotics infusion 7 days aweek 3 times a day and needing dialysis and or kidney transplant and travel to another state at least 3 times is very expensive. God bless you for your donations and helping me with the surgeries I need. ✝️
