Medical Expenses for Janice Delp

My name is Jennifer Griggs. My mother, Janice Delp, was diagnosed with 2 different types of colon cancer in August of this year, right around the time of the flood. Since her diagnosis, the cancer has spread to her liver. She underwent chemotherapy of which had no impact on the cancer. Mom was then given the choice of going into hospice or trying a harsher chemo that may or may not work. My mother has always been a fighter, therefore, the choice for her was simple- more chemo. After 2 rounds of chemo, she ended up in the hospital with an infection. The latest news is that she now has spots on her spine which will require radiation and hospice is her only option at this point. Mom lives with my husband and I, along with our 6 kids. She requires assistance with everything. I am not one to ask for money, but my family and I are in great need. Just as most people are going through major trials right now trying to recover from the flood and attempt to return to normalcy, we are trying to raise and family and care for my mom. If any of you know my mom, you know that she has spent the last 30 plus years of her life caring for others as a respiratory therapist. One of her greatest fears in life is to have to depend on others for her care. We are in need of sitters to be with her during work hours, but the funds are just not there. I feel it is my mom's turn to be cared for but help is needed. All money raised through this fundraiser will go directly to pay for sitters needed during work hours, so that my family can continue to earn a living while caring for mom.
