Medical Care for 10 Puppies

Yes it’s 2018 but, single moms have always had (and will always have) a hard time being… well, a single mom. And, when you’re a single mom with 10 mouths to feed and need healthcare to make sure your babies are healthy and growing, then it’s an even more arduous task.
Our gorgeous Emma welcomed 11 babies into the world on the weekend of January 27 (unfortunately little Rue was not strong enough to make it and that literally breaks our hearts) and, at three weeks old, Second Chance Animal Rescue is putting together plans to get them into to see the nice doctor to make sure they’re on the right track to being gorgeous and healthy, just like their Mom!
Veterinary costs are overwhelming for rescues and we are hoping that our supporters can chip in – whether it’s $5, $10 or more – to help us cover the vetting for these beautiful babies. They will receive three rounds of dewormer, three sets of vaccinations, Lepto (which is to prevent Leptospirosis, a bacteria that is spread through the soil and water of an infected animal), receive their microchipped, and will be spayed/neutered when the time is right. They will also be given a preventative for fleas. If you think about that and add up all the costs involved, we are looking at a “big chunk of change!” Wow, we’re overwhelmed just thinking about it!
Please keep in mind that Second Chance Animal Rescue also supplies the foster family with all the food, medical supplies, blankets, pee pads, bowls, towels, paper towels, etc. required by the pups and Emma, as well as news leashes and collars when they’re ready to venture out, toys and anything else they need. So, we are really hoping that our supporters see that there is a huge need for your support.
