Nick Rippeto- amazing Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend...
It was just a normal day like any other.... but something felt a little different. Nick woke up with a swollen lymph node and pain under his arm pit. After the pain got worse and swelling got bigger, Nick decided to go to the doctor to get it checked out. They told him “Nothing to worry about, here is an antibiotic”. Two trips back to the doctor and finally a biopsy... The doctor said “Just one week until the biopsy results come back”. After the longest week of their life, the phone rang. The news was life-changing. “Cancer”- the C word no one wants to hear.
Staight to the doctor for tests upon tests...
Nick was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma. The doctors immediately started a pill form of chemo, followed by a surgery to remove a large Cancerous tumor in his right arm. The doctors said they were able to remove the whole tumor and the effected lymph nodes and Nick was deemed "Cancer Free".
Shortly after the surgery, he started an aggressive chemo and the doctors had informed him he would have a 2 year treatment plan. After the 1st round of Chemo, Nick noticed a lump behind his neck. He informed the doctors, which scheduled a CT 2 weeks later. After completing the 2nd round of chemo, Nick received his CT results...
The Cancer has now become stage 4 and has spread. Two tumors in his neck, and one in his brain. The tumor is inoperable because of its location in the center of the brain behind the optical nerve. A targeted radiation procedure is the last option available to remove this tumor, and requires the newest technology that Kaiser does not offer. Please continue t help this family financially to get Nick the care he needs.
Brittany and Nick have been married for nearly 3 years and soul mates from the moment they met out of High School. This amazing man is the Father of 2 beautiful children- Gentry Rose - 21 months and Bodhi 6 Months. His amazing personality lights up a room and he is a man of so many talents. #KickitforNick
