My name is Ron Stary. I have been married to my wife, Dawn, for 26 years. Shortly after the birth of our son, Dawn started showing symptoms doctors couldn't diagnose. It was finally diagnosed as Rheumatoid Arthritis. She has had many surgeries. RA is a progressive disease. Since then she has also been diagnosed with Epilepsy, with Grand Mal seizures.
Dawn has been diagnosed with other Chronic Diseases and can no longer teach or drive! She has been on SSD Disability for 12 years. The funds she gets are quite small. It is finally time to ask for help with medical costs. This is hard, but we need your help.
Dawn takes many medications, some very expensive. Our health insurance does not cover the full cost. Sometimes Dawn has gone without medications because the money just isn't there.
Dawn has been seeing Neurologists at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD. Her Neurologist recently informed us that after five years of treatment and still suffering the seizures, there is not much more help they can give her.
We are hoping to get an appointment soon at the University of Minnesota for treatment and probable surgery for chronic seizures. Travel, lodging, medications and Dawn's recovery will make this endeavor very costly! It is frightening for all of us, especially Dawn!
She is not out in the community often, but if you ask her about these diseases, she will visit with you about her struggles. Dawn loves to talk! We are asking for any donation you feel that you can give. We appreciate any donations.
