Medical Charity For Ross Hershey

Living with diabetes for the past 14 years, I have learned to deal with my disease as best as I can by taking precautions to keep my health in check. But diabetes can be unpredictable and vicious.  Eight weeks ago, I urgently required two toe amputations due to complications of my diabetes. This surgery has been difficult to recover from as I have had to relearn how to walk.  Making matters worse, three weeks into my hospital stay I learned that I had been fired from my job due to “urgent business needs.” I had only been at this job for five weeks so I did not yet have health insurance. My 3 month hospital stay is leaving me with a $103,000 bill and no income. I negotiated with the hospital and had the bill reduced. I'm not far from gather funds to pay the bill. I'm only $4900 short.  My doctors are completing reconstructive surgery on my foot, and I have started physical therapy to help me gain mobility again and tackle recovery.  Hopefully at some point I can try to work again.  But until then I am completely overwhelmed with the financial obligation of this massive bill.
