Up to 1 million Australians live with Fibromyalgia and/or ME/CFS Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have little or no access to services.
We are passionate about establishing a specialised ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Clinic because people need services now. Our team has already demonstrated that if people living with these conditions receive early intervention, ongoing layered investigations to guide their treatment and tailored personalised management, they will have improved health outcomes and a better quality of life.
HELP MAKE THIS BECOME A REALITY. By raising much needed funds to establish the ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Clinic and Research Centre we can fast track research into daily patient care.
The new Clinic will be piloting and evaluating best practice medical care and the latest research into tests, disease markers and treatments. It will also be validating tests to confirm diagnosis to support Centrelink and National Disability Insurance Scheme applications.
We already have a growing waiting list, but the current Medicare funding does not cover even the basic costs of care, or the research staff salaries to evaluate patient care.
All money received in this fund will be used to pay for the extra salaries of the doctors, practice nurses, research associates and health educators.
