I had a massive stroke in February and was in ICU for 3 weeks. I went rehab for 3 months then to skilled nursing for 1 month and I am paralyzed on my left side. So here is my story as of today....
My story hasn't been a good one. I no longer have my home to go back to. I will be staying with a relative.
My son and his girlfriend were living in my apartment while I was in ICU and throughout my stays in Acute rehab and skilled nursing.
I asked him to take care of my 3 cats and pay the bills while I was away. His name was also on the lease and he told me he was taking care of everything. He said he was paying the bills out of his money, he is a full time mail carrier in Paola, KS.
I just recently found out that he was paying the rent with my money, the money I was receiving from my vacation and sick time I had accrued. He wasn't paying any of the other bills and was driving my car on expired tags.
He drained my bank account, let my car tags expire, didn't pay or put my cell phone on hold. I now owe thousands of dollars in just regular bills on top of my huge medical bills.
The last conversation I had with him he said "So I guess I am supposed to keep a roof over your head too?" I asked what happened to the money I had and he said I was accusing him of stealing. He was the only one with access to my bank account. He screamed at me and hung up on me.
He is my only child and I always kept a roof over his head when he couldn't hold down a job. I guess I never thought my own son would treat me like this.
I have not qualified for disability or medicaid at this time. I literally have no money but I am so thankful for the family that has stepped up to help me with what they can.
I am asking for any help that you can or are willing to give me. I am not the kind of person to ask but I have no choice at this time. Any donation or prayer is greatly appreciated.
