Haiti's Kindergarten St. Joseph

Donation protected
As most of you know, there was a horrible earthquake in Haiti in January 2010. As Haiti is already one of the poorest countries in the world, the fallout was devastating.  There were children left as orphans, husbands who lost wives, and thousands of people left homeless, living in tents or cardboard boxes on the streets because the foundations of their homes were left unstable.

There has been much done to help with clean-up in the past 5 years, but Haiti as a country is still leaps and bounds behind the rest of the world. Medical care is worlds behind, as they are just now getting equipment such as X-ray machines that we had 20 years ago.  Their schooling is also lacking. There is no such thing as public school in Haiti. All students must pay to attend, and they are all eager to learn.

One school in particular is run by a very selfless woman and her family.  Kindergarten St. Joseph.  We are trying to raise funds for this school.  The school is run by my friend's 70 year old mother-in-law, and right now she makes all of the uniforms for the students, and their parents pay her with whatever means they have, whether it is an egg, a handful of rice, or just whatever they have. They have just hired a new teacher and pay for all of her living expenses. The funds will be delivered directly to the school to pay for furniture, books, food, and to pay for the new teacher's living expenses.

$1 USD is equivalent to approximately $54 in Haiti, so every little bit helps.

Thank you in advance.
