It is with tremendous sadness we announce the passing of Mira Cupic.
Mira, 45, passed away in St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, on Wednesday 20 February 2019, a week after giving birth to her second child: a beautiful baby girl named Millie.
Mira was a long-serving and dedicated employee of the Independent Planning Commission (and the former Planning Assessment Commission), holding the position of Business Services Coordinator since August 2009.
She was previously employed as a Senior Administration Officer in the Department of Planning Environment and as an Administrative Assistant in the Commission of Inquiry for Environment and Planning.
Mira was a much-loved colleague and friend to everyone in the Commission and many in the Department. Her sudden passing has left the close-knit team within the Commission Secretariat, as well as the Chair and Commissioners in deep shock.
Mira’s vibrant personality, wicked sense of humour and zest for life will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Sasa, six-year-old son Max, and little Millie. All proceeds from this campaign will go to Mira's young children.
A funeral service for Mira will be held at 10am this Friday (1 March 2019) at St John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church, 82 Kenny Street, Wollongong, then onto Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Kanahooka.
