Maxwell's Maximum Wellness Plan

A visit to the vet for a concern, turned into so much more. When we initially brought Max to the vet, we were already worried because we noticed that after he went to the bathroom, something irregular was coming out of his rectum. When we arrived and discussed our concerns after an exam, they said that they would have to put him under for this minor procedure. Before doing so, they would have to test him for heart worms to make sure he could be put under to avoid complications. We were going to sign up for the wellness plan, and pay whatever extra fees that came up. They took Max to the back and when they came back our world crumbled. They said Max was heart worm positive, and that they could not perform the procedure on him. They said that even though it is in its earliest stages, any stage of heart worm disease is life threatening and needs to be dealt with immediately. The totals for the treatment would be over 3000$ if we did not join the wellness plan and start the treatment immediately. We have already paid nearly 450$, but so much more is needed in the next 270 days to complete the treatment. We are pulling together whatever funds we have, but we desperately need help to make sure we take care of this disease as soon as possible. I'm sure that many of you can relate when I say that our pet is a member of the family. We love him so much, and ever since we rescued him he has given us so much love, and filled a gap that we didn't even know we had. Any amount helps. Max has been through so much in his short life. From abuse, to being moved from family to family because no one wanted to give him the time and attention that he so desperately needed. We have given him that, and reaped the rewards. He is an incredible dog who deserves an incredible life. There is no amount of thank you's that could ever be enough to express our gratitude to you wonderful people out there if anyone could spare a little of their own money, and help us treat our precious Maxwell.
