Help Max Bounce Back!!!

Donation protected
Our dear friend Max, who is loved and celebrated by many, was involved in a freak accident this weekend. While staying in a lofted bedroom, he got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, and took a serious tumble down the loft's ladder, from a height of 12-15 feet.

Luckily, Max did not suffer any permanent damage to his brain or spine, or long-term mobility. But he is pretty banged up! He did a thorough job while falling, and has shattered both of his wrists, broken a number of ribs, and his facial bones. (Don't worry, his hair is fine.)

And of course, nothing will ever break Max's spirit.

As many of you know, Max is an artist, and relies on his hands and his dexterity for his livelihood as a musician and as a furniture-maker. It will take a long time for Max's injuries to heal and he will not be able to pursue his passions as usual during this time.

As a community, we want to support Max in the same way that he has supported all of us over the years with his electric charisma, his unmatched humor, his endless appetite for fun, and his infinite kindness.

If you feel so inclined and are in a position to donate, please use this platform as a way to show your support, no matter how big or small. All funds donated will go towards all of the many unexpected costs that come when people are injured and to help bridge the gap while Max is physically unable to work. The money will be used towards hospital bills, expensive medical supplies, Uber/Lyft rides, blenders for Max's new soft-foods-only diet, gold spray paint for his cast, etc.

If you are not in a position to donate, there are many other ways to support Max! You can email us (just click on the Fundraising Team envelope button at the top of this page) with your favorite soup and smoothie recipes, or your favorite films that he can watch while he heals, or just reach out to Max with your message of love.

We are doing this because we know Max would do the same for us. Thank you for being a part of his community!

For full disclosure, the funds are linked to Janique's account (Max's sister) who is currently helping Max while he heals - and who conveniently has two functioning wrists/hands/thumbs and can more easily deal with mobile bank transfers while Max is on the mend. Janique will be transferring all of the money to Max.

P.S. We will continue posting updates on Max's condition here, and on FB and Instagram. You can also follow the hashtag:
