This is Max...
My goofy, loving, beautiful, talented, and amazingly supportive best friend. Max is honestly the most respectful and genuinely kind person I have ever met. I never smile as much as I do when I am with them. I never laugh as loud as I do when they are around.
And all I want to do in return is make Max as happy as they can possibly be, but that won't happen until they feel comfortable in their own body.
Now I can't keep people from misgendering them and I can't stop people from judging them solely on who they love. The only thing I can really do is ask for some support so Max can get top surgery and stop feeling miserable whenever they look in the mirror. So they can finally stop binding after two years of doing it every minute of every day. So they can finally be as happy as they have made me these last couple of years.
I want Max to feel as comfortable as they possibly can, but that won't happen without this surgery.
Top surgery in the United States is anywhere from $3,000-$10,000, including the consultation, actual procedure, and hospital stay after the surgery.
There is no time limit for how soon Max needs the surgery. The sooner the better, but we will both be very grateful no matter how much you donate and when. And if you can't donate that's totally okay too, but if you could share this post it would be very helpful.
