Matthew Teague Recovery Support

Donation protected
On June 29, 2019 Matthew suffered a severe spinal cord injury from a diving accident. He was flown to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem and was rushed into emergency surgery to fuse his C5 and C7 vertebrae. His C6 was split and had to be removed. The surgery was a success but due to the severity of his injury he is currently paralyzed from the chest down. He has faced a number of hurdles while in the hospital but has been very responsive to the treatment he has received. He will be moved to one of the best rehab facilities for spinal cord injuries in the country and will hopefully regain some mobility. Due to the nature of the injury he has suffered, a number of lifestyle changes need to be made. This includes purchasing a van, modifying the access to the house and renovating a bathroom in his home to be handicap accessible, as well as a number of other things we can’t predict yet. While he has wonderful health insurance to cover most of his medical expenses, there will be unexpected costs in the future we are unable to predict. Any funds received will help provide Matthew with a smooth transition to his new normal and give him the best quality of life now and in the future. We have been blessed with a tremendous outpouring of love and support from our family and friends around the world.  We greatly appreciate the continued  prayers for complete healing.
