Matthew's Road To Recovery

Donation protected
Matthew’s Journey back to health Matthew has been diagnosed with CLL(Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia). His initial diagnosis came just a few weeks after his one year wedding anniversary when he had considerable pain in his lower abdomen. Initially Matt suspected a hernia and after a trip to the Emergency Department at Cayuga Medical he came away with life changing news. The CLL was officially diagnosed after being found to have considerably corrupted his bone marrow. Matt is working with an Oncologist at Cayuga Medical who has presented him with a strong chance to send his affliction into remission. Dena, his wife, and the community of friends around him, our tribe, have been taken aback by the news as it will ultimately create lasting effects for all of us. Matt has reached out to the Department of Social Services for any possibly assistance that can be offered, as well, he has asked his friends to rally behind him, calling upon them for their various skills and his team is coming together. Unfortunately our abilities will only carry him so far and we cannot generate his portion of their living expenses nor will the financial assistance from DSS. In addition, Dena will likely have a continued need to take time off from work to be with Matt as he continues on his journey into and through chemotherapy and ultimately until he has recovered. Due to the increasing magnitude/frequency and un-predictable bouts of abdominal pain, caused by his swollen lymph nodes, Matt will be starting his first round of chemotherapy November 14th. The chemotherapy may offer Matt and Dena challenges other than the health related risks and will potentially render Matt unable to even prepare food for himself. Dena may, in addition to being Matt's primary caregiver, also be called upon to to solely care for their 2 dogs adding a further burden to this untimely and challenging situation. We have set up a online meal donation for those of you who want to assist with food and or supply's. http://www.takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=QWVU6897Any help anyone is willing to give is greatly appreciated. Sharing of Matt's story helps too! Please spread the news. 100% of funds raised as a result of this campaign (after GFM processing fees) will be directly transferred to Matthew and Dena to offset medical and living expenses incurred as a result of his illness.Thank you
