2017 Womens World Cup #gridirongirl
Playing for the Newcastle Cobras #33 as Safety & Running Back Matilda has recently been selected from a nationwide camp that was held in February on the Sunshine Coast to attend the Selection Camp where the feilding team will be chosen to represent Australia in 2017.
Matilda Quist is the only selected athlete from the Newcastle/Hunter Valley Region.
"Even at a national level we still have to finance our own insurance, rego, gear, training, uniform, accommodation, meals, airfares etc and that will be in excess of $8000!
So please I'm calling on the communities in our area to back the local girl who wants to make it big and do our country proud."
For the price of a coffee (or a schooner) you could make a big difference in Matilda's journey.
"This is a one in a life time opportunity and I want to be prepared physically, mentally and financially."
For sponsorship, media enquiries or to follow this journey you can contact Matilda by clicking on the link below.

Hi Jim, Thank you for your comment on my page, it's nice you have taken such an interest in my financial matter. I'd like to respond by giving you some facts. 1. I have NEVER had a job earning close to or more than $100,000 a year. 2. I have been 'unfit for work' due to a sport related injury requiring surgery which left me out of work for 4month and as I have always been a casual I receive no sickness benefits or annual leave AT ALL. 3. I work as a humble Firefighter doing work for my local community and as you can imagine it is not a substantial wage however doing this service is rewarding in itself. 4. I train in excess of 15 hours a week so I can represent our country as an Australian Female Athlete. We are not paid to play & have to cover all expenses. You need to be informed as you are trying to troll me on various Facebook and internet pages with VERY misinformed facts. I feel very sorry you have so much anger and resentment towards me. I hope you sincerely find peace within yourself to move on
