Mason Grey

As most of you know mason came into this world on December 14th at 10:53 pm. Although he’s been here a short amount of time he has overcome an amazing amount of obstacles. On Saturday he was transferred to the NICU due to low oxygen levels and an infection where they put him on some IV antibiotics. Sunday we got confirmation that he had a coarctation (narrowing of his aorta) that was nearly closed, a bicuspid aortic valve, and a moderate to large ventricular septal defect. After that was found they decided to transfer him to Levine Children’s Hospital emergently where he had heart surgery yesterday 12/18/18. The doctors said that the surgery went very well and he is expecting him to be able to return home soon. They are hopeful for no follow up surgeries for any of the other issues, however it is not something we will know until the time comes. They anticipate him being here several more days pending all goes well.
