Mason was in a bad boat accident on Sunday May 27th. While up in Wisconsin,  mason was on the dock while the boat was coming in and he fell into the water behind the boat. The boats propeller caught Mason's legs, cutting them deep in multiple places. Scott (Mason's dad) saw him struggling to get back on the dock and ran to help him up. When Mason was out of the water he saw the cuts and leaped into action, wrapping a belt around his leg to slow the bleeding. Mason grabbed a nearby rope and wrapped it around his other leg. As Elvira was on the phone with 911 , Ayden ran down the hill to help Scott carry Mason to the car. As soon as they got Mason into the back, they sped off to meet up with the paramedics. Mason was conscious the whole ride, holding the rope and belt tight around his legs. Scott pulled off the road to wait for the EMT's and was waving cars down so they would be easy to spot. As soon as the paramedics got there an emergency helicopter was requested. Mason was moved into the ambulance and raced to a nearby high school to meet up with the helicopter.  The helicopter flew him to North Memorial Hospital where he immediately went into surgery. On Tuesday, May 29th  Mason had a surgery to fix a restricted vain so the blood flow to his lower leg and foot would be better. The nerve that controls the foot had to be fixed so a plastic surgeon was called in. Some of Mason's damaged muscles died from lack of blood and trauma. Mason will need multiple more surgeries in the upcoming weeks.
