Masha's Chance For Childhood

Donation protected

Organic Lesions of the CNS, Symptomatic Epilepsy, Partial Atrophy of the Optic Nerves, Psychomotor and speech development delay, Pharmacoresistance – those are just some of the disorders that Masha, my best friend’s niece has been diagnosed with.  Masha is just 4 years old and these unpronounceable disorders mean that she spends most of her time in excruciating pain and enduring countless seizures. Even simple tasks like eating and breathing are very difficult for Masha to do.  Masha is partially blind, cannot walk or talk, her seizers prevent her from having a normal nights sleep.  The best Masha can hope for is an hour of sleep before her conditions awaken her again.  Masha is in urgent need of medical help, her seizers have become more frequent and continue to interfere with the development of her CNS. Masha’s family has been raising money to send her for a treatment to The Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential in Pisa, Italy.  After many attempts of raising money in Belarus through local charities, they have only managed to raise around $1000. To afford a trip to Italy and the treatment they must pay $10,000.  I am creating this page on GoFundMe in hopes to help with the fundraising. Please, take a moment to read Masha’s story and help if you can! Thank you and God bless!

Original message from Masha's family:
“Almost three years ago Andrei and Oksana welcomed into this world their third girl Masha. Something went wrong during the last weeks of pregnancy and right after Masha was born she was taken to hospital. The girl began having seizures and after many tests taken, hospital blunders, and wrong treatment was finally diagnosed with: Organic Lesions of the CNS, Symptomatic Epilepsy, Partial Atrophy of the Optic Nerves, Psychomotor and speech development delay as well as Pharmacoresistance

These are big words for such a beautiful little girl with charming eyes.  What lay ahead for this young family is still being determined. They are not the one to ask for help. They would rather give than receive. But there comes time in one’s life when you cannot go forward without the help of others.

Masha's family first and foremost needs your prayers, well wishes, love, good vibes, positive thoughts, and healing sent their way. They are beyond grateful to all those who have already reached out and volunteered assistance. Thank you everyone!

People often ask how they can help if they live far away. The way to help during this time is to make a donation. Just keep in mind that any sum you donate is a great help.

Unfortunately, right now traditional treatments in Belarus do not cure the disease. They only slow down the progression. Maria's parents found out that Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential located in the USA has experience helping people with the same diagnoses. The family is invited to Pisa, Italy where there one of the offices of the institute. There the specialists will examine Masha and begin therapy.

The visit to hospital in Italy is planned for July 9-14, 2017. Along with treatment cost, travel expenses and interpreter the family needs the sum of about $10,000 in the next three weeks. This seems like an impossible task, but with your help we can get her there! Any help you can give would be most appreciated and will go directly towards bringing Masha to hospital and back home. Contributing money or time/labor would greatly help the family focused on what's most important at this time, helping their baby Masha fight for life”.
