Mary Francis Paradise's Organ Fight

Donation protected
Mary Francis has been at the Cleveland Clinic to get on the transplant list for a new stomach, duodenum, small bowel pancreas.  She has become even more sick and now has to wait even longer just to get on the list.
This is her story.....
In 1987, at the age of 18, Mary was diagnosed with Familial Polyposis which causes numerous polyps to grow in the large bowel (intestine, colon) and is a cause of colon cancer.  For the next 2 years, Mary underwent multiple surgeries to remove the polyps.  In 1989 doctors had to remove her colon because some of the polyps developed into cancer.  Around 1992, Desmond Tumors developed in her abdomen which were removed and Mary was now diagnosed with Gardners Syndrome which causes multiple types of polyps and tumors to grow.  She started chemotherapy and radiation to kill the growth of these but unfortunately this destroyed her small bowel (intestine).  In 2004, Mary Francis had a small bowel transplant in Pittsburgh, PA.  From 2004-2017 Mary and her mother, Arkie (Helen) Paradise made multiple trips to Pittsburgh with the help of good friends.  She had consistent infections that had to be treated as well blood transfusions that required hospital stays in PA, Rochester, Clifton Springs, Geneva and Cleveland, OH.  In April of this year Mary was flown to the Cleveland Clinic from Strong in Rochester.  There, her transplant doctor discovered her small bowel was no longer functioning as well as other organs.  Since then she has only been able to be at home for 1 week and she had to be transported back to OH early by ambulance because she became very ill.
Mary has now developed a serious infection and will have to fight through this and become "healthy"enough to get on the transplant list.
Mary Francis' dad Frank Paradise died shortly before her first transplant so her mom has been her only provider when Mary couldn't work.  Arkie and Mary Francis are the most positive people we know and are consistently praying for other people.  Mary has never complained and has spent most of her adult life in pain.   They both enjoy life as much as they can but now need a lot of prayers and some financial help.  Arkie has to live in Cleveland waiting for the transplant.  Any support you can give would be graciously accepted.  They are very humble people and will pray for you as well!  God bless and thank you in advance!
