Mary Buut's return to South Sudan
Donation protected
In 2013, Mary Buut came to Pittsburgh to help her daughter Nyanthiec and son in law Panther Bior care for their 4 young children. Mary left her husband and daughters in South Sudan to help this young family.
Sadly, Mary was recently diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. There is no cure. Doctors have given Mary 3 months. She woud like to return home to be with her family.
Panther and Nyanthiec are able to purchase airfare for Mary but are struggling to find funds for Panther to accompany his mother in law on this trip. Of course, she is unable to travel alone.
Mary, Panther, Nyanthiec and the 4 children have been patients in our dental practice for many years. I'm sure it was difficult for Panther to reach out to me for help. We are trying raise $2500 for travel expenses for Panther.
Interestingly Panther is a Sudanese refugee who was featured in the documentary "God Grew Tired of Us.." This award winning film chronicled the story of several of "The Lost Boys of the Sudan."
Panther hopes to accompany Mary home to South Sudan as soon as she is discharged from hospice care. They hope to travel Monday May 22, 2017. Sadly time is critical since Mary is getting weaker daily.
