Mary Allen's fight against cancer
Anyone that knows Mary Allen has witnessed her unbelievably strong faith in her Lord and Savior. They have also witnessed a giving nature that can only be described as "Christ-like."
Mary had some stomach issues that led to 3 surgeries. During the last of these surgeries doctors removed a blockage in her colon. It was determined that the mass they removed was cancer. It was initially believed that the cancer was isolated to her colon and lymph nodes in that area. Then the PET scan revealed it has spread to her liver and lymph nodes in her chest. Mary endured her first chemotherapy treatment on January 5, 2017. The treatment is expected to last several months.
Mary has dedicated her life to giving and caring for others. Mary worked as a caregiver for developmentally disabled individuals for over twenty years at the Enid State School. After retiring from the school, Mary realized her life was not fulfilled. To satisfy her need and desire to care for others, she brought a disabled young lady into her home. "Dannie" requires total care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Mary has cared for Dannie for the last 13 years. Mary has not only opened her heart to satisfy the needs of others, she is always the first to offer financial help to anyone that may need it. Without hesitation, she would give her last dollar to a total stranger. We have all heard her say "I know the good Lord will provide for me."
Mary is 79 years old but you would never know it. She is full of laughter and spreads positivity with every word. She has total faith in God's will. Mary never complains and would NEVER ask for help from anyone. But she needs our help! We cannot let Mary battle this horrible disease alone. She has financial obligations to meet while facing a significant loss of income. There are also noncovered medical expenses related to this treatment. Please consider giving back to a woman that has "given it all" her entire life.
Thank you and God bless you.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Mary has asked that we post the following message on her behalf.
She cannot thank everyone enough and is very humbled by the tremendous support she is receiving. She strongly feels like there are others that need help more than she does and wants to be sure that no one is "putting themselves in a bind" to help her.
She loves you all and can't thank you enough.
We as her family are also very appreciative and we know she does need help. We also believe as it has worked so well for Mary, your gifts will come back on you 10 fold. We will keep you posted as Mary's journey to wellness continues.
Mary is such a wonderful lady. She has helped many. I wish I could but not able to give nothing but my prayers and love to h er. She's the most amazing prayer warrior. She prayed continously for my granddaughter who fought and beat cancer. Love her like a mother.
