I am organising at The Masonic Halls Oakfield Road Croydon Surrey The Marsden/Macmillan Aid Charity Event to raise funds for Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support. The event is being held on Saturday 23rd June 2018, the first part of the event will be a sit down 5 course meal and entertainment from an A list comedian and the second part will be a rock concert with two bands playing and Rockeoke.
I am the drummer of the headline band and I have been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. I am going through treatment at the moment. In December my guitarist was diagnosed with vocal chord cancer he is also undergoing treatment. We have both been treated extremely well by The Royal Marsden and Macmillan Nurses and we wanted to give something back. A charity gig in a pub did not seem enough to us, so. I had this vision, Marsden/Macmillan Aid.
The funds raised will be for the both charities however if we are unable to raise sponsors for the event some funds may be used to print tickets and cover costs of performers.
we will be enteranally greatfull for any support for this eventy and for the lovely people who are looking after us.
