Marlo’s Glaucoma Surgery

Jr and I adopted Marlo from a friend when she was  2 months old. She was full of energy and always wanted to play. Within the first two months of having her, we noticed Marlo’s energy level drastically lowered. Overnight, Marlo was diagnosed with Glaucoma at 4 months old. Since there is no cure for Glaucoma, she has been on endless amounts of medications to keep her comfortable. Her first glaucoma episode caused irreversible blindness in her left eye. 6 months later, glaucoma effected her right eye but we were lucky enough to catch it early, keeping her eye sight. After months of medications, our Ophthalmologist received the news of a new minimally invasive laser eye surgery that will preserve her eye sight and will allow her to get off all medications. Unfortunately, the closest Ophthalmologist with the new laser is located in Northern California. With all the appointments, medications, and time Jr and I have had to take off work to care for Marlo and her diagnosis, it has been a very difficult time, financially.
