Marlon Bubba Brown Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Marlon"Bubba"Brown is a graduate from Loudon High School. He continued his education at University of Clemson where he is a record holder for the Most Tackles in a game, season, and career. He made bowl appearances such as the Gator Bowl where he still holds the record for the number of tackles in football. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at University of Clemson. Marlon majored in education and decided to use his knowledge in the educational system in TN and in Detroit. He was working in education in Detroit until just recently. He went to the doctor for problems he was suffering that turned into a serious hospital stay. He had been battling Type 2 Diabetes for the past 16 years. This battle has taken a toll on his heart and his kidneys. He was treated in the hospital for complications from high blood pressure and renal failure as a result from the diabetes.
Now, Marlon "Bubba" Brown is having to undergo dialysis three times a week. These treatments last from 4-6 hours and they leave him very drained. He has to have someone take him to and from the dialysis center. He is also having someone stay with him a few hours daily to ensure that he doing ok. His life now consists of constant monitoring of his blood sugars , potassium and fluid intake and so many more things. Where he used to be active in the summer as an umpire in rec league baseball and softball is now at a halt. He has no means of earning wages at the moment.
Marlon doesn't have the means to earn wages as he did once before because of the stringent schedule associated with the dialysis. He doesn't have the time or energy to do what he loves. He's a true fighter and with prayer, hopefully he can "tackle" this obstacle and go back to somewhat of a normal life.
I'm asking for donations to assist him with his basic needs for a couple of months or so until we can see what road we will need to take. He lives alone in Michigan and there's no way financially that he can move closer to us or us moving closer to him. Luckily, he has insurance that will cover 80% of his treatments but he also still has to pay insurance premiums and supplemental insurance premiums. With that being said, he also is still responsible for his insulin, meds, utilities, rent , and costs of everyday living.
When Marlon enters a room, his smile and presence lights up a room. He would give you the shirt off of his back if he knew you needed one. I ask that , we as a community , rally around Marlon and uplift him in his time of need. Marlon will keep fighting this like a Redskin and hopefully beat this like a Tiger. Any donations are appreciated. We are seeking ways to bring him closer to "home" .We will have to be able to accommodate his needs with room but until then, I'm asking for assistance for a few months of living expenses until we can figure out the next step in this "Road to Recovery." Thank you and God bless all of you. If you cannot make a monetary donation, please keep him in prayer. He needs all of the support he can get because he is fighting this battle a long way from home. God bless and thank you.
