Mark Zacks Fight - Kicking Cancers Ass

MARK ZACKS, Where do I start, I have known him my whole life, as long as I can remember. Mark is that ONE TRUE FRIEND that if you are lucky enough, you keep from  your childhood. ONE of the friends you know you can count on, no matter what. Like my mom used to say, "if you have more than TWO TRUE FRIENDS, you are truly blessed". We have always stayed in contact, sometimes more sometimes less, life gets in the way.  We have always stayed true friends and got together every chance we could, him living in Michigan and me in South Florida. FRIENDS ALWAYS!   Mark has always loved S. Fla. as I do, I have been here in Ft. Lauderdale since 1994 (24 years this year).  I got a  call from Mark early in the morning last year and he told me he and his beautiful wife Tracy were moving down, out of the blue one of my best friends was going to be local. They officially moved here in December, him retiring from being a Decorated  Police Officer for 30 Years serving the public, he had gotten a new job and was retiring from being a Police Officer, 7 years in Walled Lake and 23 years in Southfield. With the opportunity to retire from the police department, his wife at his back keeping the wind blowing and the sail full, they set out on their next journey/chapter in their life, move to S. Fla. I was ecstatic that he was going to be in the near area. Being such good  friends and going to be so close, it would not be every 1, 3,  5 years between seeing him. Tracy also was leaving her job at Huron Valley Sinai hospital, she was there for 23 years but excited  for the next chapter in their lives. She eaisly got a job with her Specialty Nursing Skills.  Fast Forward to today.... I sent Mark a text on Saturday June 16th in the afternoon,  I was just keeping in touch as we still have busy life's, I get a reply from his phone # and says "hey this is Tracy can you talk". I knew before I responded that something was up/wrong, she tells me Mark has been in the hospital since Tuesday as he has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma a blood and bone marrow Cancer......my jaw dropped and could not believe what I was hearing. I tell Tracy that if there is anything she or Mark needs to let me know, she asks me if I can come over and keep an eye on Mark while she goes to pick up one of his daughters (Sam) from the airport, he was just released from the hospital that day. I lock the door and was at thier place in short order, they are about 6 miles from where I live. As this all starts to sink in, I am extremely bothered by this, some of you will remember I lost my mother when I was 18 to breast  cancer (she was 46). I keep thinking what can I do to help out in this situation, what can I do, what can I do.... I have been thinking about it every day since I have found out, going over and over in my head "Why" "Why" I keep thinking,  what can I do to help, what does my friend need, how can I help.... I travel  a lot for my job, and I just want to help. Then It comes to me,  the stress of all of this on him, his wife and family, of course this is going to a financial strain not just on him and Tracy but the whole family flying back and forth. "Go fund Me" popped into my head, I know the financial burden is coming, him not working and his wife taking time off of work from her new job, not having any family living down here, they had just started a new chapter in their life and this happens!!! GO Fund Me kept popping in my head. I decided  I was going to start this webpage for him and try to help reduce some of the stress with all this crazyness...hopefully it helps them and reduces some of the stress. So here it is, MARK ZACKS "Go Fund Me" page, just trying to help out one of my best friends, and to ask for Prayers and Donations. I am praying and will be the first one to donate, everyone I know and talk to is praying for Mark and his family, I pray the treatment he is doing kicks this things  A** back to where it came from.  I am just trying to put a dent in the stress Mark and his Family are facing, just to reduce a little of the stress of Medical Bills, Expenses, or what ever they need the funds for.
