Dear Donors,
I am an accomplished jazz singer, opera singer, songwriter and composer. Music is my life, my dream, and my reality. My mother told me that before I spoke, I sang. My love of music is the single most important factor in my life, and I live solely to perform. Decades of struggles, pains, joys, and achievements have brought me to this point of soliciting your assistance.
I do believe that success occurs when opportunity meets preparation. I have been preparing for this opportunity for at least three decades, and I am more than prepared to tackle the hard, tedious work to be successful.
I have performed at the UN, Carnegie Hall, Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, and the Barclays Center to name a few. I have collaborated musically on a four-song cycle with John Harbison, the Pulitzer Prize-winning and Metropolitan Opera commissioned composer for “the Great Gatsby.” I have even received distinguished awards, among them:
A NAACP Image Award
A Congratulatory Letter from the United Nations
The Caribbean Heritage Celebration Award
I am more than qualified and confident to accept my new challenges which consist of my one woman show at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater on Thursday April 25th at 9:30 pm, auditioning and being selected to perform in Susquehanna Opera’s Rising Stars Summer Program in York, PA as well as other opportunities on the horizon .
However, I am in need of a serious financial blessing. For me to prepare for both of these events, I require monetary assistance of $5000 I am appreciative of any donation. The funds requested are to pay for my musican’s to perform at Joe’s Pub and for the summer opera program that I did receive a partial scholarship for . Words cannot express my appreciation and I promise to deliver performances worthy of your support.
