After losing my job straight out of college, I decided that it was time for me to go undergo a self- assessment. Embarrassed, ashamed and shattered, I began to understand the importance of life and discovering my purpose. For years I have maintaned a passion for teaching while inspiring others; however, I also had a passion for traveling the world and learning more about cultures. With those two ideas in mind, I was able to narrow my job hunting options to becoming an English Teacher.
In February, I was offered a job to teach English in Tianjin, China. It was honestly a dream come true and I spent many days in pure disbelief. However, I was struck with a wake up call when I realized I did not have the money to began paying for many of my expenses. Still, unemployed, I swallowed my pride and accepted a job as a cashier making under minimum wage hoping to be able to singly satisfy my funds.
Weeks turned into months, I found myself in the same predicament of not having enough money to save let alone live comfortably, so I took a leap of faith and quit my job. Broke and unemployed yet again, I was overwhelmed with anxiety and the lingering question of, "How am I going to save enough money to see my dreams come true"? At that very moment, I realized what's meant for me will be for me.
The very next day, I was scheduled for two job interviews! Working two jobs day and night, I quickly forgot what sleep was, but I was able to save enough money to buy my plane ticket to Tianjin, China. Filled with immense joy, I realized losing my job was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Although the process was gruesome, I was humbled and I evolved to become a more appreciative and goal- driven woman.
As I countdown the days before I leave, I have been struggling to purchase some of the things I need for my big move! Please help me in being able to fund the last expenses of my dream!! Whatever you give will be much appreciated.
