We all have parents that we love. They give so much of themselves to make sure we thrive and succeed at our dreams. How often can we as children and recipients of such love give back in a meaningful and memorable way? In the near future, my sisters and I will have the perfect opportunity.
From a very young age, my mother, Margaret Hoog, dreamed about going to Hawaii. She always told me she wanted to visit the white sand beaches and the gorgeous tropical sunshine, but having three kids, a husband and a myriad of animals didn’t allow for her dream to come true.
Margaret’s 60th birthday is August 14, 2017. Our goal is to send her and my dad to Hawaii for four nights to the gorgeous island of Kauai. We were planning on doing this as a gift from us to her, but then we wondered, what if we could involve her family and closest friends and let her know that we all want to make her childhood dream come true?
That’s where you come in. The hotel, airfare and rental car cost about $4000. The resort is called the Ko'a Kea Hotel & Resort at Poipu Beach. Any donation amount is accepted and greatly appreciated.
Please join Emily, Caroline and me in honoring her 60th birthday. We are keeping this as a surprise, so please do not mention it to her. Donors’ names will be listed in a custom card given to her on her birthday, and any personal messages will be passed on as well.
