Margaret Rowland -Explosion Victim
Donation protected
Thursday, April 20th, Margaret Rowland was critically injured when the house she was visiting in Navarro County exploded. She was taken by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital's Trauma Center with severe injuries. Since the explosion, Margaret has endured several long and extensive surgeries, including the amputation of her right foot. She will need many additional surgeries, and may still lose her left leg.
Up until the accident, Margaret was a fulltime employee for the McKinney Air Center. This vivacious and energetic, 67 year old, fun grandmother to 4, whose grandbabies miss her very much. She will have to have multiple additional surgeries before she can leave the hospital, which could be months from now.
Additionally, Margaret will require extensive rehabilitation care, in a long-term care facility. Once she has healed from her initial wounds and the surgeries to repair the damage, she will need to fitted for prosthetics, on possibly both legs, and have years of rehabilitation and training to use her new limbs. We are raising funds to help cover the immediate soaring costs of medical care, long term care, living expenses, and anything else Margaret will need as she learns to live the rest of her life, heal physically and mentally, from the extensive trauma she is continuing to endure.
