Marathons for Mom

My mom, Catherine Kresken, is a warrior.
On April 12, 2011, my mom was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer, I was in high school at the time. Like any family who has a family member living with cancer, the news came quickly and without reason. She didn’t deserve a life threating disease.
When the news of Cancer hit my mom’s ears, she immediately sought to do everything to beat it. My mom always says she is “living with cancer,” which shows her charisma, courage, and strong heart. So far she has beaten the statistics and I am so thankful.
My mom is the most genuine, generous, and caring woman I know. She works behind the scenes making sure everyone else’s lives are running smoothly. What really gets me about her is that she never, I mean never, asks for anything in return.
In these past six years, my mom has been able to see me graduate high school, graduate college, travel the world, and move away from home and start a big person job in NYC.
While I am so fortunate that she has been here for my life defining moments, I am very thankful she has been here for the past six years to give me advice on life. My mom truly an intuitive, creative, and caring soul that chooses to see the good in everything. She taught me compassion and gave me wisdom that I will carry with me for the rest of my days.
I can’t express enough how important of a role my mother has played in my life. She is my daily inspiration, my role model, my support, and most importantly my best friend.
So if you are finally reading this now, mom… Thank you.
Thank you so much for allowing me to enjoy every part of my life to the fullest. I love you, more.
So…
As I stated above, this will be the sixth year in 2017 my mom has been living with Stage IV.
To finally give her the inspiration she deserves, I will be completing 6 FULL marathons in the year of 2017!
Along the way I need to fundraise $3000 in order to gain entry into the NYC Marathon. One of the largest and most prestigious marathons in the whole world.
Without your help I cannot get into the NYC Marathon.
Raising money for a charity is the only way to gain guaranteed entry. Luckily, the other 5 races do not require a qualification time or fundraising to gain entry. Plus, a 100% of the proceeds will go directly to a charity to support a great cause!
The $3000 will be donated to a charity sponsor of my mom's choice.
Along with the donation, I will receive guaranteed access into the NYC Marathon and my mom will have access to the grand stand finish-line seating area!
Our goal is to raise the money by the end of this March!
I know that is very soon, so please find some time today to give to our cause. We would greatly appreciate any amount!
As an incentive, anyone who gives over a $200 donation will receive a Thank You picture of my mom and I at the finish line of the NYC Marathon! We can't do it without you!

St, Jude Rock N’ Roll Marathon - April 29th - Nashville, TN
Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon – May 21st – Cleveland, OH
Dirt Dash Marathon (Middleton Place Woodlands) - August 26th - Charleston, SC
Twin Cities Marathon - October 1st - Minneapolis, MN
NYC Marathon - November 5th - New York City
Kiawah Island Marathon - December 9th - Charleston (Kiawah), SC
In total, I will be running over 1000 miles in 2017. These miles include my training, 6 Full Marathons, and the 4 Half Marathons (one of the halfs I have already completed!)
My Mom and I would love the support from anyone who wants to support us on this year long journey!
