Firstly, I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page and help raise awareness for mental health. I will be running the BMW Dallas Marathon on December 15 and I will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Grant Halliburton Foundation - here is the link: https://www.granthalliburton.org/
Mental health issues have ballooned in the past 10 years; suicide is the 10th leading cause of death and has disproportionately affected younger adults. This continues to be a growing issue in our society today. Many of us know someone who is struggling with mental health issues and, unfortunately, some of us know close friends or family members who have tragically taken their own lives as a result.
In my own experience, I have lost friends and family members to this illness. Depression is what took their lives and I believe that running this marathon, raising money and raising awareness will help take depression OUT of countless lives.
