HEART SURGERY FOR MARA ANTHONY

       Mara Anthony is the sixth child of Rev Kenneth and Nancy Anthony.  Mara was born sixteen years ago with the congenital heart defect known as Ebstein’s Anomaly.  She is called the Anthony’s miracle baby because she almost died at birth. Mara survived after three weeks in the NICU after birth. After years of medical checkups with her heart specialist, Mara’s condition unfortunately never went away and the family was told she would require surgery to lead a normal lifestyle. 

     Mara is an outgoing, smart and a beautiful young lady.  Her faith is strong and she is ready to go through this surgery to feel better and go on with her life.  The time has to repair Mara’s heart through open heart surgery.  The procedures that she will undergo are called the “Cone Procedure” where her tricuspid valve will be repaired and the “Glenn Shunt Procedure”.  Although Mara and her family live in Atlanta the surgery will have to take place in Boston on June 14, 2018, their expected stay will be 3-4 weeks for proper post surgical care and recovery. 

     Needless to say the cost of this medical procedure along with travel, meals, and local transportation will be staggering. Please donate anything you can to help the Anthony’s through this tough time and let's make Mara's dreams come true.
