Support Mara Urbanozo

Mara is a science teacher at Waipahu Intermediate School.  She has been at our school for eight years and has touched the lives of hundreds of students.  Her willingness to try new things, be innovative and progressive in her teaching has made her a strong team member to the science department and our school.  Out of respect for her privacy, I don’t want to give too many details, but three years ago, cancer started affecting her life.  As a valued member of our staff, we’ve missed her presence as she’s been in and out of school, especially this past school year.  For all that she’s given to her students, our school and the teaching profession, we’d love to give back to her in her time of need.  There are two ways you can help.  First, please consider making a donation to this GoFundMe account. All money will be going directly to Mara to help her pay for medical expenses.  Second, she was recently approved to receive leave sharing benefits.  If you are a DOE employee, please contact me for the form.
