Mango Marley's Hurricane Relief

Donation protected
Hurricane Michael hit land on Mexico Beach, FL October 10, 2018. This category 4 (almost 5) hurricane completely devastated this small beach town that we call home. It has been estimated that over 70% of the homes and businesses in Mexico Beach are gone. Untold numbers of residents and vacationers have lost their homes. The businesses that built this town lay in piles of rubble. Mango Marley’s is one of the lucky remaining structures in Mexico Beach, but we are far from operable. To open our doors and provide our employees with a job we will need a 3,000 square foot roof and new HV/AC units. The estimated cost of this project is $50,000.

Cathy & Steve Johnson opened Mango Marley’s in July of 2007, and it instantly became the coolest place on Mexico Beach. For eleven years frequenters of the forgotten coast have brought their children and grand-children to Mango Marley’s as part of their vacation tradition. We have hosted weddings, family reunions, birthday parties, and even military send-offs. We desire to fire up the kitchen and create that comfort zone our patrons have grown to love. Mango Marley’s will be a place of rest for the tireless construction crews and full-time residents who are rebuilding this town. Mango Marley’s will be a job for our employees who need to provide for their families. Most importantly, Mango Marley’s will kick-start the economy of Mexico Beach once again. Please join us in our efforts to breathe new life into this town and rebuild our seaside home.
