Mama Pernas Needs Your Help

Hello everyone, my name is Jorge. I am Marilola's son. The reason why I am making this campaign is because there is no where else I can turn to to try to turn a horrible, dangerous situation into a somewhat happy ending. I also would like to add that if I placed this in the wrong category, can the admins please move it to the correct one. Thank you Mama Pernas (as she will be referred to from here on out) is 63 years old. She is a diabetic and has been diagnosed with sleep apnea. She also has an extremely bad right hip in need of replacement. This past April, she was rushed to the emergency room because of shortness of breath. What we thought were her nerves playing a horrible game on her due to her (then) upcoming hip replacement surgery, turned out to be something much worse. We were in the emergency room for 12 hours. They discovered problems with her heart and her kidney. That night she was admitted to the hospital because the mitral valve of her heart was not closing correctly, leading to her lungs filling up with liquid. While running the battery of tests, the problem from her kidney was revealed. She currently has a 9cm tumor in her kidney pending extraction of said kidney. She was in the hospital for 20 days. They prescribed to her new heart medication that she has to take 2 a day, which sadly she has not been able to do because of the price of said medication. Normal price for said medication is over 100€ for 1 box, and she would need to buy at least 2 boxes a month. So that is at least 200€ per month alone with that medication. Add in her insulin, blood pressure meds, her sleeping medications, as well as any pain medication they give her for her hip, and that total could easily reach 300€ They told her the hip is the last thing she should worry about, since the kidney is priority, which is understandable. Meanwhile, the pain is unbearable for her, and it pains me deeply to see her like this. Now to mention the other part of this situation. She was recently evicted from her house last week. Thankfully I was able to take everything out of the house before she was denied access to it. I was also living with her as her caregiver. Add to that my current status of unemployment, and well, the situation ended as how you could expect sadly. Social Services had been notified about this situation months ago. Both her health and living situation. The social worker asigned to her case has not done a single thing to help in the year she has been in charge. The social worker has even ignored our constant pleas for help with her medicine before it got even this expensive during this year, always saying she didn't do it or she lost the paperwork. The eviction process would not have been as bad as it was if 1) Mama Pernas wasn't in the hospital for 20 days and 2) The Justice System would have given the month reprieve for humanitarian reasons. She has missed because of the eviction her first appointment at the Urologist, which was extremely important, and she will most likely have to miss her appointment at the Cardiologist on Monday. Backstory given, now is when I ask everyone for your help. Any help, doesn't matter which shape or form, will come in handy. Right now, the main goal is to solve the living situation. The only thing social services did at all was pay for a hotel for 3 nights and thats it. We have sadly been in the street for the past week, and no sign at all from the social worker. We have been looking for a room to rent that would accept 2 people in our city, and sadly all the rooms are either for one person, one person no elevator, or 2 people that fit into a broom closet. If we could find a small apartment, that would be the ideal situation, but I'm trying to be realistic here. Sadly, during this whole situation, our very little reserve of funds has been wiped out. Mama Pernas has to eat constantly because of her Diabetes, but the only thing we have been able to buy has been sandwiches that were for 1€. Plus we are sadly near the end of her current run of medicine. I left the goal at 1000€ because to resolve from today to the end of the month, that amount would help. If you know anyone in Madrid, Spain that could help with the Social Worker situation, that information would come in handy.
