Malinda's Goodbye to Her Mum
$2,130 of $5,000 goal
When I met Malinda we just clicked. She left everything behind in Australia so that we could build a family together. 11 years later and we have a beautiful son and daughter. We have had our share of rough times, but she has always been there and now she needs help. We just found out that her mother has stage 4 cancer and only has a couple of weeks left. I need to get Malinda home.
Malinda needs you help, I am currently a disabled unemployed vet with over 20 years of Navy service. I lost my job in March and we don't have the money to get her back to Australia in time. We have a child with special needs and I can't get Malinda home to be with her mother one last time, that is where you can help. We need this money to get Malinda an emergency passport from New Zealand and plane tickets so that she and our daughter can be with her mother and the rest of her family while I stay behind with our special needs son.
We need this money as soon as possible, her mother only has a couple of weeks left. Malinda will be receiving the funds to ensure she gets the passport and tickets as soon as she can. My family thanks you for taking the time to read this and any help you can offer.
We received devastating news today with a third infection now in mums bloodstream. Chemo has been ruled out and we've been told we have only weeks left unless there is some miracle that the new drugs they are giving her can clear the infections then they will start chemo and we will have months with her.
Malinda’s mom has been diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma. Patients don't present with symptoms until much too late, just like it did with Malinda’s mom. The Oncologist says she's only had it a few months, and she's stage 4, how is this even possible? There are no words that can describe this awful news we were given nor are there any words that could even begin to explain our heartache. Time is something that is so precious and something we are now so short of. Mum has undergone surgeries, numerous tests / scans and a blood transfusion in under 3 weeks and is still fighting infection after infection so they can't start chemo which will buy us a little more of this precious time.
