Maliani Family Flood Relief

The love and prayers I have received for my parents and their home has been amazing.  I have received numerous calls asking how my parents and their house were doing.  I responded to everyone saying they were ok.  Truth is I didn’t see how bad it was until yesterday because I couldn’t get them until yesterday with all the roads being closed.  That’s just how my parents are.  They don’t cry for help and down play it so no one worries.  I finally was able to get to their house yesterday and pulled up to my childhood home and was saddened and disgusted at what I was seeing.  My father carrying stuff out of the basement and throwing it on the front lawn and driveway; AGAIN. Everything in the garage and back porch, also being displayed on the front yard.  Water filled so high it knocked the washer over; eventually filling it with water.  All appliances (furnace, washer, dryer, fridge) in the basement are a wash. They were without heat and water for days.  Still without heat as the furnace is gone.  I’ve filled as much bags of clothes, so I can wash them.  The plunging in the kitchen went due to the fast current in the basement moved the pipes.  Kitchen cupboards and floor are ruined.  My parents are tired.  They haven’t even recovered from the last flood.  They do not have the strength to rebuild again.  Everyone has asked how to help.  This is the best I could think of.  Every penny will go to helping them get back on their feet as they fight with fema and insurance companies for months to help.  Winter is around the corner.  This will help get them back onto their feet and at least get a furnace so they can have some heat into the house.  Only do what you can! And anything is appreciated!!
