Malcom's Angels

When it rains it pours, friends and family. Sometimes in life we have to fake it until we make it and put on a smile on our face even in the storm. Yesterday as I was driving to work a car sideswiped me on the freeway and then drove away. I have never had so much as a speeding ticket in my life much less been in an accident.

I was shaken up, the only mode of transportation my girlfriend and I have is in shambles. I take a lot of pride getting to and from work on the bus which I have done for many years. However buses don’t run before 4am to get me to work on time some days.

I have never been a man to ask for help. I have been raised to work hard and find a way to survive regardless of my situation. Today I find myself in a point of desperation. I am the sole caretaker for my disabled mom. In fact, many of you may see me pushing her up and down Dyer in her wheelchair. I also take responsibility for providing for my son. Without a vehicle, I don’t know how I can help my family.

If you have anything to spare, I humbly ask for any help to get me through the storm. Yesterday my boss came to the rescue and reassured me that there will always be someone out there ready to pay it forward.
