Just a few minutes of listening to, or watching the news and you quickly become aware of just how much we need more peace and love in our world. Social media runs amock at times with angry discussions. Our cyber lifestyles need a shift.
We need community, not division.
Music is the universal language. It is inside all of us. That is why it brings us together. It's alive and we feel it and it's spirit essence unites us.
Fortunately, we have a global family of musicians coming together with a common goal; create Peace & Love using our universal language of music. Together we are raising the vibration of the people and the planet with unified global concerts around the world, playing The Peace Anthem (Set Me Free) on the same day and many at the same time. The goal is to create a world where our children feel safe, and generations of children are able to continue living in peace and enjoying music as a global community.
Good News! There is a solution. There is a mission with a Vision.
The Global Jam 4 Peace began in Washington DC through the efforts of a small team of volunteers, musicians, and supporters lead by founder Gregg Hammond. More on the history of the vision is available here
Make Music Day DC is part of the global celebration of Make Music Day events around the planet with a 2018 membership of 800 cities in over 120 countries.
Our small and humble 2018 team, here in Washington DC, has invested many hours getting ready for this year's events. Many late nights with little sleep.
We are leading a global peace movement with our local Washington DC DMV musicians and activists.
We are positioned to have an amazing day of music, dancing and community. It's all free to the public to attend and enjoy the music and fun.
People, places, contracts, media, artists, and musicians are coming together BUT our budget requires us to reach out to our community and ask for help with funding to pay for our promotional material costs, distribution and other small costs that add up.
We are reaching out asking for your financial support. Every dollar counts! Please give from your heart and share this with your friends family and community.
