Make Milo Happy Again!!

This is Milo. Milo is the most energetic, loving, and affectionate, people-loving dog I have ever met. He used to jump on everyone that walked in the door and struggle to get to their faces to lavish them with adoring kisses. He used to cuddle with me every night, and then wait in his crate til I woke up, then jump up into my bed and smush his face into mine to start the brand new day with hyper-loving snuggles. (Sometimes, after he gets up--and shakes his collar to try and wake me with the metallic jingles--I pretend to be asleep and watch him as he turns around, goes back into his crate, and waits a little longer for daddy to wake up). He even likes to play with cats.
Then, a few days ago, on Sunday (Jan. 7th), he jumped up into bed in the morning; but after the usual morning snuggle, he looked hesitantly at the floor, and took a moment before jumping back down. When he landed, he whelped in pain, then took a step and whelped again.
I took him to the vet ER that day and it turns out he has an injury in his lumbar vertebrae; something common in small dogs with short legs and long backs, I've been told. They gave him a laser treatment, pain meds, and an anti-inflammatory.
Since then, he hasn't been himself. He finds it hard to walk, and now often sits still in the middle of the room, unable to move. He's lost his energy, his affection, and frequently his appetite. The most responsible housebroken dog I've ever met (when he has to go, he just calmly walks over to the back door, and sits in front of it waiting patiently) is now going in the house because he's a afraid to move and frankly just isn't himself when the pain is really bad.
The vet is recommending a series of more laser treatments. I've spoken to the staff at two veterinary offices, and to some friends and family who have had similar experiences; they all claim these treatments really make a difference.
So, I'm trying to raise some dough for Milo to get the treatment he needs so he can go back to being the hyper-social, mega-loving, high-energy and play-loving little dude he used to be. Let's work together to heal Milo's body so we can bring that amazing, loving and beautiful Milo spirit back to life!! Thanks, friends!
