Makayla Levy is 17 years old and lives in Wolfville. She trains at the Metro Amateur Wrestling Club, in Sackville.
Makayla captured her second national title in the U19 freestyle division at 57kg. She also received her second national outstanding wrestler award. She outscored her competition 37-0 on her first day of
wrestling to win the title. The following day, she competed for a place on Team Canada. Makayla outscored her competition 37-5.
She is the first female wrestler from Nova Scotia to qualify for the Pan Am Games in 13 years. She was also the silver medalist at the 2017 Canadas Games. She will represent her nation this May at the United World Wrestling Pan American Games in Guatemala. There will be a week-long training camp in Toronto, leading up to the event. This opportunity is completely self-funded.
