Hundreds Dead, more than a Million Homeless.
The south Indian state of Kerala has witnessed the heaviest monsoon rainfall in 100 years. The devastating floods and landslides have killed nearly 400 people and more than 1,000,000 people have been displaced. Several thousand homes and most bridges were collapsed across the state's of Kerala. In several villages in the suburbs, carcasses of dead cattle were seen floating in muddy waters. Officials estimate that more than 10,000 miles of roads have been damaged. Thousands of rescuers are continuing efforts to reach out to stranded people and get relief supplies to isolated areas by hundreds of boats and nearly two dozen helicopters.
