On February 1, 2017, Maddie was involved in a head on collision. She sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from Albany to Navicient Trauma Center in Macon. Maddie is in the surgical intensive care unit there.
Maddie is a sweet, kind, fun-loving girl with a heart of gold. Her strength in body and faith will serve her well through this. The fact that the cross she glued to her dash when she got her car remained untouched in the accident serves as a testament of both of Maddie's faith and God's protection.
At this early stage, it is unclear what all will be involved in Maddie's recovery. She is facing a long rehabilitation, and her family will be away from home to support her during this time.
