Mad Hope and Love for Erika Kahlhamer

On behalf of my cousin Erika Kahlhamer and her beautiful family - husband Max and three young children - we are establishing this effort to support them as Erika battles Stage IV kidney cancer.
In as little as a week, their lives have been turned upside down. Having not felt well for literally years, last week this beautiful family received devastating news and the “why” to Erika’s symptoms. Here is a link to their CaringBridge site with all the details.

As a devoted wife and mother of three young children and dedicated high school teacher, Erika has spent the last 10 years taking care of others. It’s now time for us to take care of her.
In a situation like this it is difficult to know how to help. Let’s all please start by assisting with the mountain of expenses associated with Erika’s diagnosis and medical care and ease their worries by eliminating financial demands while they focus on her care. Erika has had to immediately stop working and focus on what will be an epic cancer battle. They will need to make daily trips to Fargo, ND for radiation treatment and countless doctor appointments to determine and employ all medical care possible, manage childcare, travel and related expenses to/from upcoming trips to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, as well as all the other expenses that go along with a diagnosis that needs the family’s immediate and full attention.
What happens next is unknown. However we know with steadfast faith, positivity and optimism and all of our love and support - we will support them through this tough time.
