LaCrecia's Lung Transplant

LaCrecia Williams has spent her life giving. She has given her parents and 9 siblings unconditional love and support. She has given her husband, James, 23 love-filled years of marriage. She has given her two sons, Cameron and Aaron, amazing upbringings, with every opportunity in life. She has committed 20 years of her career to nonprofit work at the Marin Community Foundation. And she has devoted countless hours and energy to her extended family at Gracepointe Faith Church.



But right now, it’s time for LaCrecia to receive. A long-term auto immune disease has gradually escalated to a point where recently she has become dependent on a portable oxygen machine to help her breathe. But it’s not enough. Her lungs are no longer in a state where they can do their job. So LaCrecia needs a lung transplant.

The good news is that she has officially been put on the lung transplant waiting list at UCSF. And her chances of a match looks positive.

The challenging news surrounds the costs associated with such a procedure. Particularly the recovery costs. Not only will that involve weeks in post-op intensive care, but then many weeks of in-home recovery at a location within 20 minutes of UCSF. Which is located in San Francisco, the most expensive housing market in the country.

Being the responsible planner that she is, LaCrecia has most of the surgery costs accounted for. But the recovery costs are formidable. Which is why this campaign is being created. Any additional financial assistance will make such a difference, and allow her and her family focus on her health and well-being, rather than money.
