Ginny Fuchs is the number one ranked flyweight for Team USA, ranked number 3 in the world and USA Boxing’s favorite for an Olympic Gold at the 2020 Olympics.....
She is an LSU Alumni, Captain of the Women’s National Team, a multiple time National Champion, World Medalist and my BEST friend. Aside from having accomplished so much in her young life , Ginny also struggles with a very underrepresented and misunderstood disease known as OCD. She was first diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder at the young age of 12 , but over the last couple of years, her routines and rituals that come with the disease have gotten significantly worse. It’s at a point where her OCD consumes most of her day and has become too mentally and physically exhausting to manage on her own.
With that said, Ginny has made the very hard yet brave decision to leave the Olympic Training Center where she has lived/trained for almost 4 years, to check herself into a well known OCD clinic back home in Houston.
The most important thing to Ginny is qualifying for the 2020 Olympics and getting her Gold that she has worked SO extremely hard for all these years. She knows that she has to be at her best mentally as well as physically going into these qualifiers this year so she taking this much needed time to better her mental health so that it doesn’t hold her back.
USA Boxing and all her friends and family are extremely proud of her for taking this step to get healthy and we support her 100%!!
That is why I have made this go fund me account...Treatment is extremely expensive and something I don’t want her having to worry about when her time in treatment is complete.
I want her to be able to fully focus on qualifiers so that she can go on to win gold for our country like she is destined to do!
Any amount that you are able to donate helps! Think of it this way... if every one of Ginny’s followers gave $2 we would have enough to cover the treatment costs! How amazing would that be??!!
