Community Outreach Renovation

Tax deductible
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Gandhi

We have been blessed with an angel lender that has helped us continue our mission of helping those in need with the purchase of the Burkewood Inn last fall.  Since that purchase, and with our tremendous community support, we have been able to provide 1,874 nights of shelter to those that would have sought refuge in their car or out in the elements.

In addition to providing temporary shelter, we also minister to those in need for clothing, food and diapers, however there is no more room at the Inn.  That is, no more room at the Inn as it is now.

We need to renovate the basement of the main building that will house our free store, food pantry and diaper bank.  How will this help serve our community?

Our free store is just that FREEANYONE can come and get what they need, at NO charge.

-      It has helped provide clothing to those who need particular items to start a new job and a fresh start

-      It has helped parents provide clothing for their children, when they would have had to go without

-      It has helped provide clothing to those who only have the clothes on their back

-      It has helped provide parents with Christmas and birthday gifts when there is no extra money for presents

Our food pantry ministers to more than the homeless.

-      It has provided food to families when their food stamps have been cut

-      It has provided food to the elderly who needed to use their money to purchase their medications, who otherwise would be eating pet food

-      It has provided food to families who have fallen on financial hardship due to an illness and just needed a hand up until their next pay day.

The diaper bank has helped thousands of babies in our community have dry bottoms.  It has been a sigh of relief to countless moms trying to make ends meet.

The need in our community is great.  We need your help and the help of our entire community.

To complete the basement renovation and reopen these vital services, we need to raise $175,000.  This will allow us to completely remodel and bring the basement up to code and start serving those in need.

The faster we get to this goal of $175,000, the faster we can complete the work and continue helping those in need.  Our goal is to have the renovations completed by June 1, 2017.

Together, we can all be the change we want in this world.

We are grateful for you and appreciate your support!

 THANK YOU!
